In our writing, we examine the technical media and image systems that are also present in our artistic practice. Ruzsa Dénes’s research focuses on space art, space-based media and technical vision, with particular attention to how telescopes, satellites and other mediating systems shape our image of the Earth, the cosmos and our own place within them. Spitzer Fruzsina’s writing repeatedly returns to questions of human–machine collaboration, generative systems, authorship and technological hybridity, most often approached from the perspective of artistic practice. In our joint publications and research, these perspectives intersect with the history of computer and electrographic art, hybrid moving-image forms, and the changing role of the contemporary technical image.
